Autora is a typeface for books designed during the
Type@Cooper program in 2016. The project started
with the observation of the first printed books,
found in New York City libraries. The study focused
on the color of the texts as well as the
calligraphic look and the proportions of the
Venetian typography. As a result, Autora is a modern
typeface which revives some of that beauty in order
to enhance the reading experience. In spite of
the accurate work done, by now, this font is just a
prototype that allowed its author, for the first
time, to explore the text size universe. The
completion is not scheduled.
